Art & Yoga

Image
Art is a pure and free expression of humanity when it is created with the positive intentions of sharing emotions or the creative reflection of the society in which an artist encounters themselves. In the 8 limbs of Patanjali it is clear that material possessions are not to be given priority over the human self.  Yet art by its nature and creation exists not for material benefit but emotional and intellectual sharing of interpretations of who we are in this present moment. Art for me has always been a meditative tool which took for hours through galleries and museums where I immersed myself in images, forms, screens & lights.  Each piece of art I tried to understand the message and feelings that were recorded in time to be seen and felt by others.  Everyone has their family experiences and positive or negative moments.  I truly focus on the beautiful gift my parents have given me of how to enjoy art and learn from it as one might by reading a boo

Breath, Health & Pranayama

During the past 20 years of yoga practice my focus was always on Asanas or Postures.  I am happy to say after a visit to Rishikesh and some inspirational yoga instructors meditation is now taking a central role to my self-practice.  A quote that I share today is the following "Through the practice of Pranayama, the energy trapped in neurotic, unconscious mental patterns may be released for use in more creative and joyful activity".  **Asana Pranayama Mudra Bandha, Swami Satyananda Saraswati. Bihar, India. In my own interpretation this means that what we perceive to be problems are just simple internal disbalances which Pranayama and yoga can solve easily with daily practice!!  I was happy to celebrate my 51st birthday last week and to mark the occasion took selfies and compared the images to my physical appearance 2 years ago!  I am more than pleased with the results of a disciplined "daily yogic routine" and I am keen to share with students

First "Kick" Steps with Visualization 😉🛹

Difficult to say the following but yet somehow a nice self assurance to one's discipline!! I have been skateboarding since 13 years of age.... So that just happens to be 38 years of jumping, ramping, wall riding and speeding about on a trusted board in many an Urban Jungle over the years!!  My mention of all this is just one sole purpose "visualization".  Many say to attain or succeed various accomplishments it is necessary a focused positive thought process and thereby creating a manifestation with the sole insistence of "seeing" that accomplishment realized even before it happens!   My initial experiences with this mental channeling happens to have been with my SkateBoard!! To say clearly I always micro analysed each and every step and breath of life endangering stunts jumping from flights of stairs or riding vertical against walls whilst defying gravity and self preservation!  Yet I never seriously injured myself as I always had the belief it was

Sometimes Simple Things by Unusual Unison can Be Nicely "Uplifting"!!! ☕😍✨🔥😋
